Volunteer Opportunities
There are countless ways to get involved with Yolo County Children’s Alliance throughout the year, whether you’re helping distribute food, supporting families with essential resources, or bringing joy to children during the holidays. We’ve provided a brief overview of each volunteer opportunity below:
- Friday Food Distribution – In partnership with the Yolo County Food Bank, we provide fresh food and pantry staples to local families in need. Volunteers assist with sorting, packing, and distributing food to ensure no child or family goes hungry.
- Big Day of Giving (May) – Join us in this 24-hour fundraising event to support YCCA’s programs. Volunteers can also create their own personal fundraising campaign to help raise funds as part of our larger effort. Spread the word, engage your network, and make a lasting impact!
- Back to School Resource Fair (July) – Help us set up and distribute essential school supplies so that students in Yolo County can start the school year prepared and confident.
- Family Fun Barn at the Yolo County Fair (August) – Support a fun, family-friendly environment by helping with interactive activities, games, and community resource sharing at this annual event.
- Homeless Resource Fair (October) – Join us in providing essential resources, hygiene kits, and support services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
- Community Giveaway Day (November) – This event provides warm clothing, blankets, food and other essentials to families before winter arrives. Volunteers assist with sorting and distributing donations.
- Toy Distribution Event (December) – Help bring holiday joy to children by wrapping, organizing, and distributing donated toys to families in need.
