Your Gift Matters: Help YCCA Thrive on Big Day of Giving

April 3, 2024 | Category: Press Release

Davis, CA — Yolo County Children’s Alliance proudly announces its participation in this year’s Big Day of Giving, an annual event coordinated by the Sacramento Region Community Foundation. Since its inception in 2013, this significant fundraising initiative has generated $91 million for local organizations, facilitating impactful change within our communities.

Donations of any amount made to Yolo County Children’s Alliance during the Big Day of Giving will be instrumental in fortifying our commitment to providing essential services and support to families throughout Yolo County. These funds will directly contribute to:

  • Expanding Access to Vital Resources: Your support enables us to extend our reach and provide crucial resources such as food distributions, parenting classes, and health insurance enrollment through our Family Resource Center.
  • Empowering Children’s Development: With your generosity, we can continue offering home visiting programs and child developmental screenings, ensuring that every child receives the support they need to thrive from an early age.
  • Fostering Economic Stability: Your contributions aid in providing free tax preparation services, youth employment assistance, and housing stability services, empowering families to achieve financial security.

The Big Day of Giving presents an opportunity for donors to unite behind organizations dedicated to strengthening our community by providing unrestricted donations. Last year, 762 nonprofits in the Sacramento region raised $13.8 million in just 24 hours.

“Our fundraising goal for this year’s Big Day of Giving is ambitious, but with the support of our generous donors, we are confident that we can make a significant impact,” stated Jeneba Lahai, Executive Director of Yolo County Children’s Alliance. “Donations received during this event will directly support projects aimed at enhancing the well-being of children and families across Yolo County, ensuring that no one is left behind.”

Donors who wish to plan their giving ahead of the 24-hour challenge can visit www.bigdayofgiving.org before the event to review nonprofit profiles. From April 18 through May 2, they can donate funds and launch personal fundraising campaigns to support their favorite nonprofits.

About Yolo County Children’s Alliance: Opening in 2002, the Yolo County Children’s Alliance (YCCA) is a nonprofit organization that ensures everyone in Yolo County has access to the resources they need to build meaningful ties to their communities and each other. To accomplish this, YCCA has expanded on our foundational role as the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Yolo County. Today, we serve as an inter-agency coordinator, building networks of support throughout Yolo County to deliver programs funded by numerous community and government grants, as well as individual donations. Our work focuses on three family-strengthening pillars: Family Support, Parent Education, and Community Collaboration. Visit www.YoloKids.org to learn more.
